Westminster Cathedral. The galero hangs above the tomb of a cardinal (likely this one belongs to Cardinal Hume, considering its relatively good condition - this then would be an image of the St George chapel). According to tradition, when the galero finally disintegrates completely, it signifies the cardinal’s release from purgatory.


The mosaic in teh background appears to show St Gregory the Great sending Augustine of Canterury to England.
